MARINE NOTICE 123 of 2014

GRAND CANAL

Tullamore – Cappincur

Rowing Evemt – Sat 4th October 2014

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and users of the Grand Canal that Offaly Rowing Club will be holding a time trial event on Sat 4th Oct from 0800hrs until 1600hrs.
The event will be held between Locks 23 and 24 on the Grand Canal at , Tullamore.
Navigation will be restricted during the period of the time trials and masters should note any instructions or advice give by the event safety marshals.

Waterways Ireland thanks its customers for their cooperation with this event.

Temporary Navigation Closure

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that the Grand Canal at Lock No. C2 (Lower Mount Street) is closed to navigation to facilitate emergency lock repairs.
It is estimated that repairs will be completed by 22nd August 2014.
Waterways Ireland regrets any inconvenience that this may cause.

Temporary Restriction to Navigation

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise owners and masters that a temporary restriction to navigation will be in place on Thurs 14th Aug and Thurs 21st. Aug 2014, from 0700hrs to 2000hrs on the Mespil Road section of the Grand Canal.
Through passage can be arranged by prior notice per Marine Notice No 23 of 2014.
Waterways Ireland thanks its customers for their cooperation in this matter.

NAVIGATION RESTRICTION

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all Masters and Users of the Grand Canal at Tullamore that the Canal water level between Lock 26 and Lock 27 will be lowered by circa 200mm from Wednesday 21st May to Friday 23rd May , And also lowered by circa 200mm from Monday 26th May to Wednesday 28th May to facilitate Canal Bank maintenance .
