Grand Canal – Shannon Harbour

Quay Wall Repair – Extended to 08 December

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all masters of vessels and waterway users that it will be carrying out maintenance works on a damaged section of the north quay wall in Shannon Harbour.
Works will begin on Monday the 25th of September and will be in place until 08 December 2023, hours of work 9am to 5pm. A section of the harbour wall will be closed off to boat users during this time.
The access road to the north of Shannon harbour will be closed to public traffic and only local traffic will be permitted access.
Water Levels in Shannon Harbour may have to be lowered for a time to allow these works to be completed.
Four temporary red navigation markers are now in place on the south side of the works location to aid navigation through the area.

Grand Canal – Shannon Harbour, VERLÄNGERT,
Reparatur der Kaimauer – verlängert bis 08. Dezember
Waterways Ireland möchte alle Kapitäne von Schiffen und Nutzer der Wasserstraße darauf hinweisen, dass an einem beschädigten Abschnitt der nördlichen Kaimauer im Hafen von Shannon Instandhaltungsarbeiten durchgeführt werden.
Die Arbeiten beginnen am Montag, den 25. September, und dauern bis zum 08. Dezember 2023, Arbeitszeiten 9 bis 17 Uhr. Während dieser Zeit wird ein Teil der Hafenmauer für Bootsfahrer gesperrt sein.
Die Zufahrtsstraße nördlich des Hafens von Shannon wird für den öffentlichen Verkehr gesperrt, und nur der örtliche Verkehr wird Zugang haben.
Der Wasserstand im Hafen von Shannon muss möglicherweise eine Zeit lang gesenkt werden, damit die Arbeiten abgeschlossen werden können.
Auf der Südseite der Baustelle wurden vier provisorische rote Schifffahrtszeichen aufgestellt, um die Navigation in diesem Gebiet zu erleichtern.

Lock 22 – Repair works, 03 to 12 October

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise Masters and owners of vessels that essential repair works will be taking place at Lock 22 (Cappyroe Bridge) from Tuesday 03 October to Thursday 12 October 2023. Due to these works, navigation will not be possible through the area during this time.
Waterways Ireland regrets any inconvenience that this may cause and thanks its customers for their cooperation in this matter.

Grand Canal, Lock 22 – Reparaturarbeiten, 03. bis 12. Oktober
Waterways Ireland möchte Kapitäne und Schiffsbesitzer darauf hinweisen, dass von Dienstag, dem 03. Oktober, bis Donnerstag, dem 12. Oktober 2023, an der Schleuse 22 (Cappyroe Bridge) wichtige Reparaturarbeiten durchgeführt werden. Aufgrund dieser Arbeiten wird die Schifffahrt in diesem Zeitraum nicht möglich sein.
Waterways Ireland bedauert die dadurch entstehenden Unannehmlichkeiten und bedankt sich bei seinen Kunden für ihre Kooperation in dieser Angelegenheit.

Closure of navigation due to fallen trees

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all Masters of Vessels and waterways users that the Grand Canal Circular Line (Lock C1 through to Lock C7) is closed to navigation due to fallen trees across the canal.
Further information will be provided when the navigation is reopened.

Waterways Ireland möchte alle Schiffsführer und Wasserstraßenbenutzer darauf hinweisen, dass die Grand Canal Circular Line (Schleuse C1 bis Schleuse C7) wegen umgestürzter Bäume quer über den Kanal für die Schifffahrt gesperrt ist.
Weitere Informationen werden bereitgestellt, sobald die Schifffahrt wieder freigegeben ist.

Waterways Ireland wishes to inform Masters of Vessels and waterway users that Lock 3, Grand Canal will be closed from Friday 5th May 2023 until Saturday 3rd June 2023 to facilitate emergency repair works to the lock gates.
Waterways Ireland regrets any inconvenience that this may cause and thanks its customers for their co-operation in relation to this matter.

Grand Canal, 12th lock to 13th lock

Lowered water level

From Fri 3rd March 2023 for two weeks

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise Masters of Vessels and users of the Grand Canal that construction of the greenway is ongoing.
The water level on the Grand Canal on the 12th Level between Lock 12 Lucan Road and Lock 13 Ardclough from Friday 3rd March for a period of 2 weeks. The water is to be lowered by 200mm to accommodate stone works under Aylmer’s Bridge, Kearneystown as part of the ongoing Kildare County Council Phase 1 Greenway works and follows on from Marine Notice 104 of 2022.

Grand Canal, 12. Lock bis 13. Lock, Niedriger Wasserstand
Ab Fr 3. März 2023 für zwei Wochen
Waterways Ireland möchte die Schiffsführer und Benutzer des Grand Canal darauf hinweisen, dass die Bauarbeiten für den Greenway fortgesetzt werden.
Der Wasserstand auf dem Grand Canal auf der 12. Ebene zwischen Schleuse 12 Lucan Road und Schleuse 13 Ardclough wird ab Freitag, dem 3. März, für einen Zeitraum von zwei Wochen abgesenkt. Der Wasserstand soll um 200 mm gesenkt werden, um Steinarbeiten unter der Aylmer’s Bridge, Kearneystown, im Rahmen der laufenden Phase 1 der Greenway-Arbeiten des Kildare County Council durchzuführen, und folgt auf die Marine Notice 104 von 2022.
