Lanesboro Bridge

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all masters and owners of vessels that diving operations will take place at Lanesboro Bridge tomorrow 22 March 2016 from 9:00 hrs to 12:00 hrs.

Masters are requested to give a wide berth and observe all directions issued from the safety boat.

Tarmonbarry Lock

Intended closure for works

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that Tarmonbarry Lock will be closed to boating traffic from Tues 6 Oct until to Fri 23 Oct to facilitate remedial works to the lock gates.
During the works, vessels may circumnavigate the lock using the Camlin River, entering or leaving the Shannon 3km north of Tarmonbarry and similarly at Clondra Lock, immediately south of Tarmonbarry .
Waterways Ireland regrets any inconvenience that this may cause and thanks its customers for their cooperation in this matter.

Swimming Event

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that a swimming event will take place on Mon 3 Aug from the Bord na Mona bridge north of Lanesborough to Lanesborough bridge commencing at 1400hrs and finishing at 1500hrs.
Masters are requested to proceed at slow speed and with minimum wash when approaching this section of the navigation, to heed any instructions issued by the event marshals and in particular to keep a look-out for swimmers in the water.
