Boat Assistance Summer 2015

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise that, over the summer period (with effect from 13th June 2015), water control and boat assistance where possible on the Royal Canal Locks 12 to 17 will be provided as shown below:

    • Please refer to Marine Notice No.22 for arrangements to make passage in or out of Dublin, east of Lock 12, including Newcomen Bridge Lift dates.
    • Locks 16 & 17: passage may not be possible through these locks outside of the hours given above. Masters should therefore make contact at the numbers given to arrange assistance through the locks.

Wed 10 June 2015, Aquathon Event

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that the swim element of the above event will take place on Wed 10 June from 1900hrs until 2000hrs.
Masters are requested to proceed at slow speed and with minimum wash when approaching this section of the navigation to heed any instructions issued by the event marshals and in particular to keep a look-out for swimmers in the water.
Waterways Ireland thanks its customers for their cooperation in this matter.

Water Based Events during Feile Brian Boru

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that a swimming race and dragon boat races will take place between the town bridge and the Coast Guard Station on Sun 5 July between 1500hrs and 1600hrs.
Masters are requested to proceed at slow speed and with minimum wash when approaching this section of the navigation and to heed any instructions issued by the event marshals and in particular to keep a look-out for swimmers in the water.
