Grand Canal Barrow Line

Low water levels on 26th Level

Cautionary advice

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that low water levels are being experienced on the 26th level (Long Level) of the Grand Canal Barrow Line. Water levels are currently down 400mm.
Masters of vessels are advised to proceed with additional caution and to contact the water patroller for latest advice and assistance.
Waterways Ireland apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Niedriger Wasserstand am 26. Level, Vorsorglicher Hinweis
Waterways Ireland möchte Kapitäne und Schiffseigner darauf hinweisen, dass auf der 26. Ebene (Long Level) der Grand Canal Barrow Line ein niedriger Wasserstand herrscht. Der Wasserstand ist derzeit um 400 mm gesunken.
Den Schiffsführern wird empfohlen, mit besonderer Vorsicht vorzugehen und die Wasseraufsichtsbehörde zu kontaktieren, um aktuelle Hinweise und Unterstützung zu erhalten.
Waterways Ireland entschuldigt sich für die entstandenen Unannehmlichkeiten.

Navigatioral Markers at Hexagon Shoal & Hare Island
Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that caution should be exercised when navigating in the vicinity of the Hexagon Shoal and Hare Island on Lough Ree.
Masters of vessels should always ensure that they use an up-to-date navigation guide / charting system when navigating on the Shannon Navigation.
Please see chartlet for layout of navigation marker in the area.

Waterways Ireland möchte Kapitäne und Bootsbesitzer darauf hinweisen, dass bei der Navigation in der Nähe der Hexagon Shoal und der Hare Island im Lough Ree Vorsicht geboten ist.
Kapitäne von Schiffen sollten immer sicherstellen, dass sie ein aktuelles Navigationshandbuch/Kartensystem verwenden, wenn sie auf der Shannon Navigation navigieren.
Die Anordnung der Seezeichen in diesem Gebiet entnehmen Sie bitte dem Kartenblatt.

Rowing Regatta

Navigation and Mooring Restrictions Sun 1st Aug 2021

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all masters and users of the Shannon Navigation of navigation and mooring restrictions in Carrick- on- Shannon to facilitate the Rowing Club Regatta on Sunday 1st August 2021.
The Regatta will be held on a 500 metres stretch of water immediately south of the town bridge commencing at 0900hrs and finishing at approx 1800hrs.
Craft wishing to make a through passage will be facilitated every 2 hrs approximately, during the course of the regatta.
Masters should note that ONLY vessels of an overall length of 22ft. / 6.8m or less will be permitted on the floating jetties from Wednesday 28th July to Sunday 1st August.
This is necessary in the interest of marine safety and to facilitate the laying of the competition course.
Vessels berthed from Wednesday 28th July at 1600hrs will be required to remain in place until racing finishes at approx 1800hrs on Sunday 1st August.
No vessels should approach the jetties between 1600hrs on Wednesday and approx 1800hrs on Sunday as the entrance to the berths will be closed off and manoeuvring room will be severely restricted due to the proximity of the course.
Masters are advised to proceed at slow speed and with due caution and to take note of advice from course marshals when passing through the area.

Navigations- und Liegeplatzbeschränkungen So 1. Aug 2021

Waterways Ireland möchte alle Kapitäne und Benutzer der Shannon Navigation auf Navigations- und Anlegebeschränkungen in Carrick-on-Shannon hinweisen, um die Ruderclubregatta am Sonntag, den 1. August 2021 zu ermöglichen.
Die Regatta wird auf einer 500 Meter langen Wasserfläche unmittelbar südlich der Stadtbrücke stattfinden, die um 0900 Uhr beginnt und um ca. 1800 Uhr endet.
Boote, die eine Durchfahrt wünschen, werden im Verlauf der Regatta etwa alle 2 Stunden durchgelassen.
Kapitäne sollten beachten, dass NUR Schiffe mit einer Gesamtlänge von 22ft. / 6.8m oder weniger auf den Schwimmstegen von Mittwoch, 28. Juli bis Sonntag, 1. August erlaubt sind.
Dies ist im Interesse der Schiffssicherheit und zur Erleichterung der Verlegung des Wettkampfkurses notwendig.
Schiffe, die ab Mittwoch, den 28. Juli um 16.00 Uhr anlegen, müssen bis zum Ende der Regatta am Sonntag, den 1. August um ca. 18.00 Uhr an ihrem Platz bleiben.
Zwischen 16.00 Uhr am Mittwoch und ca. 18.00 Uhr am Sonntag sollten sich keine Schiffe den Stegen nähern, da die Einfahrt zu den Liegeplätzen abgesperrt wird und der Manövrierraum aufgrund der Nähe des Kurses stark eingeschränkt ist.
Den Kapitänen wird empfohlen, mit langsamer Geschwindigkeit und mit der gebotenen Vorsicht zu fahren und die Ratschläge der Streckenposten zu befolgen, wenn sie das Gebiet passieren.
