Public Harbours
End of Winter Mooring Period
Masters and owners are advised that the winter mooring period ends on Sun 31 Mar 2013 thereafter Navigation Bye-law No. 17(3) applies i.e. vessels should not berth in the same harbour for longer than the statutory period of 5 consecutive days nor more than a total of 7 days in any one month.

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that the closure of the Grand Canal from the Kilbeggan Bridge to Coxes Bridge has been extended from 4th March until 15th March 2013.

Portora Lock
Essential Maintenance
Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters of vessels that The Rivers Agency are undertaking essential lock gate maintenance at Portora lock. There is expected to be some disruption to traffic over the period of maintenance. Masters are requested to follow instructions given by the onsite safety boat.
Waterways Ireland regrets any inconvenience that this may cause its customers.

UNDERWATER INSPECTION OF LOCK CHAMBERS AND WEIRS
Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters of vessels that the above operation is presently underway and will be completed on Fri1 Mar.
Masters approaching locks should be prepared to stop short and await instructions from the dive safety officer before proceeding.
