Lough Derg Boat Rally

Sat 06 July to Sunday 14 July 2024

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise Masters of Vessels and users of the Shannon Navigation that the IWAI Lough Derg Boat Rally will be taking place as follows:

- - Saturday 6th July – Fleet gather in Dromaan
  - Sunday 7th July – Dromaan
  - Monday 8th July – Terryglass
  - Tuesday 9th July – Terryglass
  - Wednesday 10th July – Fleet anchor at Black Lough
  - Thursday 11th July – Garrykennedy
  - Friday 12th July – Killaloe
  - Saturday 13th July – Killaloe
  - Sunday 14th July – Fleet Disperse.

Regatta – 02 June 2024

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters of vessels that the Carlow Regatta will take place on 02 June 2024 on the Barrow navigation.
Masters of vessels are requested to proceed with additional caution in the vicinity of the event and obey safety boat instructions.

Barrow Navigation, Carlow, Regatta – 02. Juni 2024
Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne von Schiffen darauf hinweisen, dass am 02. Juni 2024 auf der Barrow Navigation die Carlow Regatta stattfinden wird.
Die Schiffsführer werden gebeten, in der Nähe der Veranstaltung mit erhöhter Vorsicht zu fahren und den Anweisungen der Sicherheitsboote Folge zu leisten.

Levitstown Lifting Bridge

Closure for maintenance

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all masters of vessels and users that Levitstown lifting bridge on the Barrow Navigation is closed with immediate effect to facilitate maintenance works. It is anticipated that the bridge will be closed until Friday 24 May 2024. A further Marine Notice will be issued in due course with an update.
Waterways Ireland regrets any inconvenience that this may cause and thanks its customers for their co-operation in relation to this matter.

Barrow Navigation, Levitstown Hebebrücke
Schließung wegen Wartungsarbeiten
Waterways Ireland möchte alle Schiffskapitäne und Benutzer darauf hinweisen, dass die Levitstown Hebebrücke auf der Barrow Navigation mit sofortiger Wirkung wegen Wartungsarbeiten gesperrt ist. Die Brücke wird voraussichtlich bis Freitag, den 24. Mai 2024, geschlossen bleiben. Zu gegebener Zeit wird eine weitere Marine Notice mit aktuellen Informationen herausgegeben.
Waterways Ireland bedauert alle Unannehmlichkeiten, die dadurch entstehen können, und dankt seinen Kunden für ihre Kooperation in dieser Angelegenheit.

Leixlip to Maynooth

Cycleway upgrade works

Waterways Ireland wishes to notify users of the Royal Canal between Leixlip and Maynooth that cycleway upgrade works have recently restarted along this stretch of the canal.
These works will require periodic closures of the canal towpaths in the area over the upcoming period. Signage giving more details of ongoing and upcoming closures will be erected at applicable sites along the route when appropriate. Navigation passage will generally continue to be possible throughout works though some additional restrictions may apply.

Royal Canal Co. Kildare, Leixlip nach Maynooth, Ausbau des Radweges
Waterways Ireland möchte die Nutzer des Royal Canal zwischen Leixlip und Maynooth darauf hinweisen, dass vor kurzem die Arbeiten zur Verbesserung des Radweges auf diesem Abschnitt des Kanals wieder aufgenommen wurden.
Diese Arbeiten werden in der kommenden Zeit regelmäßige Sperrungen der Kanalzugwege in diesem Gebiet erfordern. An den entsprechenden Stellen entlang der Strecke werden zu gegebener Zeit Hinweisschilder aufgestellt, die über die laufenden und bevorstehenden Sperrungen informieren. Die Durchfahrt für die Schifffahrt wird während der Arbeiten im Allgemeinen weiterhin möglich sein, obwohl einige zusätzliche Einschränkungen gelten können.
