IWAI Shannon Boat Rally

Sat 29th July to Sunday 6th August 2023

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise Masters of Vessels and users of the Shannon Navigation that the IWAI Shannon Boat Rally will be taking place as follows:

- - Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th: Dromod
  - Monday 31st & Tuesday August 1st: Drumsna
  - Wednesday 2nd, Thursday 3rd, & Friday 4th: Lough Key Forest Park
  - Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th: Carrick. (The fleet will be divided between Carrick Boat Club, Butler’s marina and Emerald star in the town.)

  - Montag 31. und Dienstag 1. August: Drumsna
  - Mittwoch 2., Donnerstag 3. und Freitag 4: Lough Key Waldpark
  - Samstag 5. und Sonntag 6: Carrick. (Die Flotte wird zwischen dem Carrick Boat Club, Butler’s Marina und Emerald Star in der Stadt aufgeteilt).

Dredging Operations

Waterways Ireland wishes to inform masters of vessels and waterway users on the Erne System that dredging operations will commence on the Kesh River on Tuesday 18th July 2023.
Dredging will occur at two locations along the Kesh River and at the mouth of the river.
Dredging on the two river sections (Central and East) will commence on 18th July and continue until 2nd August 2023. During this time the river will be closed to boating traffic from 0800hrs to 18:00hrs on Mondays to Fridays.
Dredging will commence at the mouth of the Kesh River (West Section) on 3rd August 2023 and will continue until 25th August 2023. The Kesh River navigation will be open during the dredging at the mouth of the river, however boaters should expect delays.

Erne-System, Lower Lough Erne, Kesh Fluss, Ausbaggerungsarbeiten
Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne von Schiffen und die Nutzer von Wasserstraßen im Erne-System darüber informieren, dass am Dienstag, den 18. Juli 2023, Baggerarbeiten im Kesh River beginnen.
Die Baggerarbeiten werden an zwei Stellen entlang des Kesh River und an der Mündung des Flusses durchgeführt.
Die Baggerarbeiten an den beiden Flussabschnitten (Mitte und Osten) werden am 18. Juli beginnen und bis zum 2. August 2023 andauern. Während dieser Zeit wird der Fluss montags bis freitags von 08:00 bis 18:00 Uhr für den Bootsverkehr gesperrt sein.
Die Baggerarbeiten an der Mündung des Kesh (Westabschnitt) beginnen am 3. August 2023 und werden bis zum 25. August 2023 andauern. Die Schifffahrt auf dem Kesh River wird während der Ausbaggerung an der Mündung des Flusses möglich sein, allerdings müssen Bootsfahrer mit Verzögerungen rechnen.

Parteen Bridge, Repairs

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise Masters of Vessels and users of the Shannon Navigation that an ESB contractor will be carrying out repairs on the tailrace bridge at Parteen from Monday 17th July 2023 for a period of 6 weeks.
The works involve repairing some of the deteriorated structure from a pontoon.
Masters of vessels using the Ardnacrusha tailrace during the repair works should contact the contractor on 087 6494454 prior to entering the tailrace in order to co-ordinate safe passage.

Shannon Navigation, Ardnacrusha Tailrace, Parteen Brückenreparatur
Waterways Ireland möchte Schiffskapitäne und Nutzer der Shannon Navigation darauf hinweisen, dass ein Auftragnehmer der ESB ab Montag, dem 17. Juli 2023, für einen Zeitraum von sechs Wochen Reparaturen an der Tailrace Bridge bei Parteen durchführen wird.
Bei den Arbeiten wird ein Teil der beschädigten Struktur von einem Ponton aus repariert.
Kapitäne von Schiffen, die während der Reparaturarbeiten den Ardnacrusha-Tailrace benutzen, sollten sich vor der Einfahrt in den Tailrace mit dem Bauunternehmen unter 087 6494454 in Verbindung setzen, um die sichere Durchfahrt zu koordinieren.

Blue-Green Algae Blooms

Advisory Information

Waterways Ireland has been made aware of the presence of Blue-Green algae in a number of locations on the inland waterways, both North and South. Blue-Green algae blooms can be toxic to humans and potentially lethal to animals, under certain conditions.

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all recreational users of its waterways and pet owners, both on and adjacent to the waterways, to comply with any notices placed by the Local Authority and avoid contact or immersive activities in areas where Blue-Green algae are present. Waterways Ireland jetties and slipways remain open, however the public are advised to refrain from immersive activities including swimming and not to allow pets drink from or swim in affected areas.

Please report encounters with Blue-Green algae blooms on the inland waterways to your Local Authority Environmental Section.

Waterways Ireland wurde auf das Vorkommen von Blaualgen an einer Reihe von Stellen auf den Binnengewässern im Norden und Süden aufmerksam gemacht. Blaualgenblüten können für Menschen giftig und für Tiere unter bestimmten Umständen tödlich sein.
Waterways Ireland möchte allen Freizeitteilnehmern an seinen Wasserstraßen und Haustierbesitzern auf und neben den Wasserstraßen raten, alle Hinweise der örtlichen Behörden zu beachten und den Kontakt mit oder das Eintauchen in Bereiche zu vermeiden, in denen Blaualgen vorhanden sind. Die Anlegestellen und Slipanlagen der Waterways Ireland bleiben geöffnet, die Öffentlichkeit wird jedoch gebeten, von Tauchaktivitäten, einschließlich Schwimmen, abzusehen und Haustiere nicht aus den betroffenen Gebieten trinken oder darin schwimmen zu lassen.
Bitte melden Sie Begegnungen mit Blaualgenblüten auf den Binnengewässern an die Umweltabteilung Ihrer Gemeindeverwaltung.
