MARINE NOTICE, No. 11 of 2023

Grand Canal, Royal Canal and Barrow Line & Navigation

Renewal of permits for vessels & entry to canal network

Canal Act 1986 (Bye-Laws) 1988

Waterways Ireland wishes to remind all masters and owners of vessels that all canal permits expired on 1st November 2022 and must be renewed.

Permits applications can be made online at:

Masters of vessels are advised that entry to the canal network at Richmond Harbour, Shannon Harbour and St Mullins requires vessels to be in possession of a valid canal permit or canal visitor’s permit.
Vessels with no permit as required by Bye Law 6(8) will be removed as operationally convenient.

Erneuerung von Genehmigungen für Schiffe und Zugang zum Kanalnetz
Kanalgesetz 1986 (Bye-Laws) 1988
Waterways Ireland möchte alle Kapitäne und Schiffsbesitzer daran erinnern, dass alle Kanalgenehmigungen am 1. November 2022 auslaufen und erneuert werden müssen.
Anträge für Genehmigungen können online unter gestellt werden.
Schiffskapitäne werden darauf hingewiesen, dass für die Einfahrt in das Kanalnetz in Richmond Harbour, Shannon Harbour und St. Mullins eine gültige Kanalerlaubnis oder eine Besuchererlaubnis für den Kanal erforderlich ist.
Schiffe, die keine Erlaubnis gemäß Bye Law 6(8) haben, werden entfernt, sobald dies betrieblich sinnvoll ist.
Waterways Ireland bedankt sich bei seinen Kunden für ihre Kooperation in dieser Angelegenheit.

Port hand marker back on station

Waterways Ireland wishes to inform masters of vessels and waterway users on Lough Ree that the port hand lateral marker on the South side of Inchmore Island is now back on station. The temporary red buoy has been removed.
Waterways Ireland thanks its customers for their co-operation in relation to this matter.

Backbordseitiger Marker wieder in Betrieb
Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne von Schiffen und die Nutzer der Wasserstraße auf dem Lough Ree darüber informieren, dass der seitliche Backbordmarker auf der Südseite von Inchmore Island jetzt wieder in Betrieb ist. Die provisorische rote Boje ist entfernt worden.
Waterways Ireland dankt seinen Kunden für ihre Kooperation in dieser Angelegenheit.

Grand Canal, 12th lock to 13th lock

Lowered water level

From Fri 3rd March 2023 for two weeks

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise Masters of Vessels and users of the Grand Canal that construction of the greenway is ongoing.
The water level on the Grand Canal on the 12th Level between Lock 12 Lucan Road and Lock 13 Ardclough from Friday 3rd March for a period of 2 weeks. The water is to be lowered by 200mm to accommodate stone works under Aylmer’s Bridge, Kearneystown as part of the ongoing Kildare County Council Phase 1 Greenway works and follows on from Marine Notice 104 of 2022.
Waterways Ireland thanks Master of Vessels and canal users for their understanding in relation to this matter.

Grand Canal, 12. Lock bis 13. Lock, Niedriger Wasserstand
Ab Fr 3. März 2023 für zwei Wochen
Waterways Ireland möchte die Schiffsführer und Benutzer des Grand Canal darauf hinweisen, dass die Bauarbeiten für den Greenway fortgesetzt werden.
Der Wasserstand auf dem Grand Canal auf der 12. Ebene zwischen Schleuse 12 Lucan Road und Schleuse 13 Ardclough wird ab Freitag, dem 3. März, für einen Zeitraum von zwei Wochen abgesenkt. Der Wasserstand soll um 200 mm gesenkt werden, um Steinarbeiten unter der Aylmer’s Bridge, Kearneystown, im Rahmen der laufenden Phase 1 der Greenway-Arbeiten des Kildare County Council durchzuführen, und folgt auf die Marine Notice 104 von 2022.
Waterways Ireland dankt den Schiffsführern und Kanalbenutzern für ihr Verständnis in dieser Angelegenheit.

Erne System

Erne Head of the River Rowing Race Saturday 4th March 2023

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise that the Erne Head of the River Rowing Race will take place on Saturday 5th March 2023.
The event will start upstream of the Killyhevlin hotel and will race through to Enniskillen Royal Boat Club.
Rowing boats and craft will be on the water from 0900 to 1600hrs. There will be approx 100 rowing crews participating in 2 Events.

- - Race 1 – Women’s Eight at 1100 hrs
  - Race 2 – Men’s Eight at 1330 hrs

Masters of vessels should adhere to all instructions given by race marshals on the day and keep race course clear especially during racing.
Masters of vessels to keep wash to minimum when passing rowing crews and race marshals.

Erne System, Erne Head of the River Rowing Race, Samstag, 4. März 2023
Waterways Ireland möchte darauf hinweisen, dass das Erne Head of the River Rowing Race am Samstag, den 5. März 2023 stattfinden wird.
Die Veranstaltung beginnt flussaufwärts des Killyhevlin Hotels und führt bis zum Enniskillen Royal Boat Club.
Ruderboote und Boote werden von 0900 bis 1600 Uhr auf dem Wasser sein. Es werden ca. 100 Rudermannschaften in 2 Veranstaltungen teilnehmen.

- - Rennen 1 – Frauen-Achter um 1100 Uhr
  - Rennen 2 – Männer-Achter um 1330 Uhr

Die Bootsführer sollten sich an alle Anweisungen der Streckenposten halten und die Regattastrecke insbesondere während der Rennen freihalten.
Die Schiffsführer sollten die Waschanlage auf ein Minimum reduzieren, wenn sie Ruderer und Streckenposten passieren.

Power Supply Interruption, Tues 28th March 2023

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all masters of vessels and water users that Monasterevin Lifting Bridge will be without power supply on Tuesday 28th March 2023, due to a notified ESB power supply Interruption in Monasterevin.
Waterways Ireland apologises for any inconvenience caused and wishes to thank its customers for their cooperation.

Unterbrechung der Stromzufuhr, Dienstag, 28. März 2023
Waterways Ireland möchte alle Schiffskapitäne und Wassernutzer darauf hinweisen, dass die Monasterevin Hebebrücke am Dienstag, den 28. März 2023, aufgrund einer gemeldeten ESB-Stromversorgungsunterbrechung in Monasterevin nicht mit Strom versorgt wird.
Waterways Ireland entschuldigt sich für die entstandenen Unannehmlichkeiten und bedankt sich bei seinen Kunden für ihre Kooperation.
