Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters of vessels on the Shannon Navigation that 8 small green navigation markers will be installed at the Hexagon shoal from 01 August 2022 for a trial period. Four small markers will be installed on the north side of Marker 615 and four small markers installed on the east side of Marker 615. See chartlet below. Waterways Ireland advises boaters to always use an up-to-date Navigation Guide when boating on the Shannon Navigation. Lough Ree, Hexagon Shoal; Zusätzliche Navigationsmarker Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne von Schiffen auf dem Shannon Navigation darauf hinweisen, dass ab dem 01. August 2022 probeweise 8 kleine grüne Schifffahrtszeichen an der Untiefe Hexagon installiert werden. Vier kleine Schifffahrtszeichen werden auf der Nordseite des Markers 615 und vier kleine Schifffahrtszeichen auf der Ostseite des Markers 615 installiert. Siehe nachstehendes Kartenblatt. Waterways Ireland rät Bootsfahrern, immer einen aktuellen Navigationsführer zu benutzen, wenn sie auf dem Shannon Navigation fahren. Navigation and Mooring Restrictions Sat 30th July & Sun 31st July 2022
Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all masters of vessels and users of the Royal Canal, of navigation and mooring restrictions in Richmond Harbour to facilitate a canoe polo competition on Saturday 30th July & Sunday 31st July 2022 between 08.30 and 17.30 daily. No vessels should moor in the harbour during this time. Please note, in the interest of Health & Safety it will not be possible for vessels to enter or exit the harbour during the event. Waterways Ireland takes this opportunity to thank its customers for their co-operation with these arrangements.
Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all Masters and users that in order to facilitate the annual Abbott Longford marathon road race on Sunday 28 August 2022 lifting bridge operations will be restricted accordingly.
The following air draft restrictions will apply to the lifting bridges, which will be closed during the time periods indicated below.
Royal Canal – Begnagh Bridge
The bridge will be closed from 0730hrs to 1000 hrs. The Lock keeper may be contacted on 00 353 087 9151400.
Shannon Navigation – Tarmonbarry Bridge (0845 hrs to 1200 hrs)
The air draft at Tarmonbarry at Ordinary Summer Level is 7’9″ (2.35m). TheLock keeper can be contacted during lock opening hours at 00 353 (0)43 3326117 or 087 9222020 for further information.
Shannon Navigation – Rooskey Bridge (0930 hrs to 1245 hrs)
The air draft at Roosky Bridge at Ordinary Summer Level is 10ft (3.025m). There is an air draft gauge erected at the bridge on both Upper and Lower approaches. The Lock keeper can be contacted during lock opening hours at 00 353 (0)71 96 38018 for further information.
