Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that navigation on the Grand Canal from the 34th Lock at Clonony to the 21st Lock at Ballycommon will be closed from Monday 4th November until Friday 20th December 2013 to facilitate maintenance works.

Temporary Closure
Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that from Monday, November 4th 2013 to February 2014 the Grand Canal will be closed to navigation on the 13th Level, downstream of Ponsonby Bridge near Ardclough, Co. Kildare due to works by Kildare County Council associated with the laying of a watermain.
Waterways Ireland regrets any inconvenience this may cause our customers.

CLOSURE
Waterways Ir eland wishes to advise masters of vessels that the Grand Canal – Circular Line – will be closed to navigation between Lock C3 (Upper Mount Street) and Lock C5 (Leeson Street) from Monday 21st October 2013 for approx 6 weeks to facilitate the installation of new lock gates.

Owners and masters are reminded that due to the continuing period of dry weather and lowering water levels on Lough Ree craft should be visited more frequently to tend to mooring lines.

PUBLIC MOORINGS
Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners that the public moorings immediately east and west of Sallins bridge have been closed temporarily to facilitate refurbishment works and will re-open in mid –March 2014.This area is now deemed a construction site and all users should take note of warning signs associated with these works.

Rowing Event Sat 5th October 2013
Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all master and user of the Grand Canal that Offaly Rowing Club will be Holding a Series of Time Trials on Saturday 5th October from 08.00 Hrs. until 16:00 Hrs. approx.
The Rowing Time Trials will be between Lock 23 and Lock 24 on the Grand Canal at Cappincur, Tullamore.
Navigation will be Restricted During the Period of the Trials. Master of Vessels should heed Stewards Instructions.
