LOWER BANN

Waterways Ireland would like to advise all owners/Masters of vessels that due to the current high water levels and strong flow masters of vessels should avoid navigation until conditions are more suitable.
Waterways Ireland thanks its customers for their co-operation in this matter.

High Water Levels

Restricted Access Shannon Bridge Jetties

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that due to high water levels at the jetty at Shannon Bridge access is restricted.

Masters should be aware of the following non-exhaustive list of hazards related to the current high water levels:

    • Reduced air-draft at bridges
    • Increased flow rates
    • Difficulties discerning the navigation channel
    • Submerged obstacles including navigation markers
    • Submerged jetties

Floating Jetties
High Water Levels

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners that access ramps to floating jetties will be removed or lifted as necessary, as water levels rise, to prevent structural damage to the jetties.
Access to the jetties will be restricted while these conditions pertain.
