LOWER BANN NAVIGATION

RE-OPENING OF THE LOCKS – From 23rd June 2020

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and users of the Lower Bann Navigation of the following information regarding the reopening of the Locks from 23rd June 2020:

Lock Operating Hours : 9am – 5pm daily

Lock Passage charges:

Lock passage shall be free of charge from the 23rd June until further notice

Contact lock keepers in advance of travel:

Customers are encouraged to phone ahead to the lock in question to ensure lock gates are set and to avoid possible conflict with other boating traffic.

Instructions for boats moving through locks:

      1. Boats should be tied up at the approaching landing jetty and wait to be called forward by the lock keeper
      2.  Customers should note that they should not throw mooring ropes up to the lock keepers and must secure their craft within the lock chamber using the chains or ladders provided on the chamber walls.
      3. No cash payments are required at present for lock passage
      4. Customers should observe signage in place regarding social distancing
      5. Customers should note that there are no toilet or shower facilities open until further notice.

WIiedereröffnung der Schleusen – Ab 23. Juni 2020
Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne und Nutzer der Lower Bann Navigation über die folgenden Informationen bezüglich der Wiedereröffnung der Schleusen ab 23. Juni 2020 informieren:

Betriebszeiten der Schleusen : 9 – 17 Uhr täglich

Schleusen Durchgangsgebühren:

Die Schleusendurchfahrt ist ab dem 23. Juni bis auf weiteres gebührenfrei

Kontaktieren Sie die Schleusenwärter vor der Fahrt:

Kunden werden ermutigt, sich telefonisch vor der betreffenden Schleuse zu melden, um sicherzustellen, dass die Schleusentore gesetzt sind und um mögliche Konflikte mit dem übrigen Bootsverkehr zu vermeiden.

Anweisungen für Boote, die durch Schleusen fahren:

  1. Die Boote sollten am herannahenden Landungssteg festgemacht werden und darauf warten, vom Schleusenwärter nach vorne gerufen zu werden.
  2. Die Kunden werden darauf hingewiesen, dass sie keine Festmacherleinen bis zu den Schleusenwärtern werfen dürfen und ihre Boote innerhalb der Schleusenkammer mit den an den Kammerwänden angebrachten Ketten oder Leitern sichern müssen.
  3. Zur Zeit sind für die Schleusendurchfahrt keine Barzahlungen erforderlich.
  4. Kunden sollten die Beschilderung zur sozialen Distanzierung beachten
  5. Kunden sollten beachten, dass es bis auf weiteres keine Toiletten- oder Duschmöglichkeiten gibt.

LOWER BANN

Payment for passage through Locks and Bridges

Masters and users of the Lower Bann are advised a dual payment system will be in operation at all locks during 2019. Masters of vessels will be able to pay by Smart Card or cash.
The cost of the lock passage on the Lower Bann will cost 1 unit on the Smart Card.
Waterways Ireland thanks its customers for their co-operation in this matter.

Zahlung für die Durchfahrt durch Schleusen und Brücken
Den Kapitänen und Nutzern des Lower Bann wird empfohlen, dass 2019 an allen Schleusen ein duales Zahlungssystem in Betrieb sein wird. Kapitäne von Schiffen können mit Smart Card oder in bar bezahlen.
Die Kosten für den Schleusendurchgang am unteren Bann betragen 1 Einheit auf der Smart Card.

Movanagher Lock Temporary Closure

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that Movanagher Lock is closed from today Friday 9th October for approximately one week for essential maintenance works.

Waterways Ireland regrets any inconvenience that this may cause its customers.

Waterways Ireland Riverfest, Sat 9th and Sun 10th Aug 2014

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all masters and users of the Lower Bann Navigation that the above event will take place along the stretch of navigation between Coleraine Town Bridge and Mountsandel bridge in the vicinity of Christie Park moorings from 11am until 6.30pm on both days.
Masters are requested to transit this area at slow speed and with minimum wash during the event and to heed the advice and instructions of those marshalling the activities.
Waterways Ireland takes this opportunity to thank its customers for their co-operation in this matter and regrets any inconvenience caused.
