Bridge will be closed for essential maintenance from next Monday 10th February until Monday 3rd. March 2014.
Waterways Ireland regrets any inconvenience that this may cause its customers.
Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that navigation on the Grand Canal from the 34th Lock at Clonony to the 21st Lock at Ballycommon will be closed from Monday 4th November until Friday 20th December 2013 to facilitate maintenance works.

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners that they should NOT undertake a passage on the Limerick to Ardnacrusha stretch of the Shannon Navigation if the output from the Ardnacrusha hydroelectric power station is above 20 Megawatts due to high flow rates and water turbulence in the navigation. Note that 20 Megawatts is equivalent to the output from one turbine at Ardnacrusha.

Owners and masters are reminded that due to the continuing period of dry weather and lowering water levels on Lough Ree craft should be visited more frequently to tend to mooring lines.

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners that the public moorings immediately east and west of Sallins bridge have been closed temporarily to facilitate refurbishment works and will re-open in mid –March 2014.This area is now deemed a construction site and all users should take note of warning signs associated with these works.
