Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that essential maintenance works at Bunbridge Jetty on Upper Lough Erne are now complete and the jetty is now fully operation and Marine Notice 115 of 2017 is hereby revoked.

Out of Position Navigation Buoy Wood Shoal

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that Cage Buoy No. 535 on the approach to Blackbrink Bay (North West of No. 6 Red Cage Buoy) has drifted off position and is currently South of Colum Point in shallow water.

It has been replaced by a temporary Red Can Buoy – see below:
It is most likely that this will remain in place for the winter months.
Waterways Ireland apologises for any inconvenience to customers.

Erne System

Enniskillen Fireworks

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all Masters and Users of the Erne Navigation System that a fireworks display will take place at Castle Island, Enniskillen on:
Tuesday 31st October 2017 between 20:00hrs and 20:30hrs.

Boat Masters should also be aware of an event called Light Up the Lough which will take place prior to the Fireworks display on Halloween night Tuesday 31st Oct at 18:30hrs. The event is a flotilla of lit up vessels from Erne Paddlers, Row the Erne and Erne Boat Hire Ltd. The boats will be dressed in lights and will circle around Castle Island from 18:30hrs to 19.30hrs. Passing vessels must keep wash to a minimum and stay clear of this activity.
Masters of vessels are advised that there will be no mooring permitted at Waterways Ireland Head Office moorings nor at the Henry Street Public Jetties on the day of the event in the interest of public safety.
Navigation in the vicinity of Castle Island is also prohibited for the duration of the event. Alternative moorings are available at the Forum and Regal Pass jetties with easy access to event vantage points.
Instructions from safety vessels must be adhered to at all times.

New Barrow Line Closure

Waterways Ireland wish to advise all masters and owners of vessels that in order to accommodate planned dredging works the New Barrow Line will be closed to Navigation from Lowtown to the confluence of the Old & New Barrow Lines.

This closure will commence on Tuesday 1st November until 18 March 2018.

The Old Barrow Line will remain open to navigation during the planned works.
