World Fireball Sailing

Championships, 21 to 26 August 2022
Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters of vessels that the World Fireball sailing championships will take place from 21 to 26 August 2022 on Lough Derg. The event will be based out of LDYClub have 4 sailing areas as shown on the map.

Master of vessels are requested to proceed with additional caution in the vicinity of the sailing events. Waterways Ireland thanks its customers for their cooperation in this matter.

Weltmeisterschaften im Fireball-Segeln, 21. bis 26. August 2022
Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne von Schiffen darauf hinweisen, dass vom 21. bis 26. August 2022 die Weltmeisterschaft im Fireball-Segeln auf dem Lough Derg stattfinden wird. Die Veranstaltung findet vom Lough Derg Yacht Club aus statt und hat 4 Segelgebiete, wie auf der Karte dargestellt.
Die Schiffsführer werden gebeten, in der Nähe der Segelveranstaltungen besonders vorsichtig zu sein. Waterways Ireland dankt seinen Kunden für ihre Kooperation in dieser Angelegenheit.

Float to the Fleadh

31st July to 7th August 2022

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters of vessels that the Float to the Fleadh will take place from 31st July to 7th August 2022 on the Royal Canal.
A flotilla of approx. 40 vessels will be transiting the canal and gathering in Mullingar Harbour for the duration of this event.
Masters of craft are requested to proceed at slow speed and with minimum wash while transiting the area.
Waterways Ireland thanks its customers for their co-operation in relation to this matter.

Royal Canal, Hafen von Mullingar, Flottille zum Festival, 31. Juli bis 7. August 2022
Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne von Schiffen darauf hinweisen, dass die Flottille zum Fest (Float to the Fleadh) vom 31. Juli bis 7. August 2022 auf dem Royal Canal stattfinden wird.
Eine Flottille von ca. 40 Schiffen wird den Kanal durchqueren und sich für die Dauer dieser Veranstaltung im Hafen von Mullingar versammeln.
Die Kapitäne der Schiffe werden gebeten, bei der Durchfahrt durch das Gebiet mit langsamer Geschwindigkeit und möglichst wenig Wasser zu fahren.
Waterways Ireland dankt seinen Kunden für ihre Kooperation in dieser Angelegenheit.

Additional navigation markers

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters of vessels on the Shannon Navigation that 8 small green navigation markers will be installed at the Hexagon shoal from 01 August 2022 for a trial period. Four small markers will be installed on the north side of Marker 615 and four small markers installed on the east side of Marker 615. See chartlet below.
Waterways Ireland advises boaters to always use an up-to-date Navigation Guide when boating on the Shannon Navigation.

Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne von Schiffen auf dem Shannon Navigation darauf hinweisen, dass ab dem 01. August 2022 probeweise 8 kleine grüne Schifffahrtszeichen an der Untiefe Hexagon installiert werden. Vier kleine Schifffahrtszeichen werden auf der Nordseite des Markers 615 und vier kleine Schifffahrtszeichen auf der Ostseite des Markers 615 installiert. Siehe nachstehendes Kartenblatt.
Waterways Ireland rät Bootsfahrern, immer einen aktuellen Navigationsführer zu benutzen, wenn sie auf dem Shannon Navigation fahren.

Clondra – Richmond Harbour – Canoe Polo

Navigation and Mooring Restrictions
Sat 30th July & Sun 31st July 2022

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all masters of vessels and users of the Royal Canal, of navigation and mooring restrictions in Richmond Harbour to facilitate a canoe polo competition on Saturday 30th July & Sunday 31st July 2022 between 08.30 and 17.30 daily.
No vessels should moor in the harbour during this time.
Please note, in the interest of Health & Safety it will not be possible for vessels to enter or exit the harbour during the event.
Waterways Ireland takes this opportunity to thank its customers for their co-operation with these arrangements.
