Public Moorings

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise customers that electricity supply to power pedestals and the supply of water to taps on public moorings will be disconnected during the winter period for environmental and reduced maintenance cost reasons.

These services will be restored prior to the commencement of the 2017 boating season. A further Marine Notice will issue at that time.

ROYAL CANAL

KILCOCK TOWPATH UPGRADE

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise that the towpath of the Royal Canal near Kilcock, from Chambers Bridge Lock 15 to the R148 road (approx. 600 meters), will be closed until December 2016 to facilitate the construction of a new cycle route.
Waterways Ireland regrets any inconvenience that this may cause to its customers.

The Cutts Essential Maintenance

Waterways Ireland has been advised by Rivers Agency of its intention to carry out essential maintenance works to the sluice gates at Colerain and that there will be no pedestrian access through the Cutts site .

Access to boating traffic into the upper canal into Cutts Lock will also be prohibited from Sat 8th Oct at 8am until Tue 11th Oct at 6pm.

Portora Lock Maintenance

Waterways Ireland has been advised by Rivers Agency of its intention to perform maintenance works to the lock gates at Portora , these works will be carried between the 04 Oct and the 12 Oct 2016, the navigation system will not be closed nor impeded, however vessels may experience some delays passing through the works area.

Magho Jetty Closed on Sat 1 Oct 2016

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that Magho Jetty will be closed tomorrow, Sat 1 Oct for the day and will reopen on Sunday morning, 2 Oct 2016, to facilitate a local event.
Waterways Ireland thanks its customers for their cooperation in this matter.
