Closed for maintenance,
Tues 30 May to Friday 02 June 2023

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all masters of vessels and water users on the Barrow that Lock 26 (Cardington Lock) at Athy will be closed for maintenance from Tues 30 May 2023 to Friday 02 June 2023.
Waterways Ireland apologises for any inconvenience caused and wishes to thank its customers for their cooperation.

Waterways Ireland möchte alle Kapitäne von Schiffen und Wasserfahrzeugnutzer auf dem Barrow darauf hinweisen, dass die Schleuse 26 (Cardington Lock) in Athy von Dienstag, den 30. Mai 2023, bis Freitag, den 02. Juni 2023, wegen Wartungsarbeiten geschlossen sein wird.
Waterways Ireland entschuldigt sich für die entstandenen Unannehmlichkeiten und bedankt sich bei seinen Kunden für ihre Kooperation.

Shannon Navigation

Ordinary Summer Levels in all areas

Cautionary warning

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that water levels in all areas of the Shannon Navigation at now at Ordinary Summer Level.
Water levels are expected to continue to lower in the coming weeks.
Masters of vessels, particularly those with deep drafts, are advised to navigate with additional caution and to remain within the navigation at all times.

Shannon Navigation, Gewöhnliche Sommerpegel in allen Gebieten.
Vorsorgliche Warnung
Waterways Ireland möchte Kapitäne und Bootsbesitzer darauf hinweisen, dass die Wasserstände in allen Bereichen der Shannon Navigation jetzt den gewöhnlichen Sommerpegel erreicht haben.
Es wird erwartet, dass die Wasserstände in den kommenden Wochen weiter sinken werden.
Den Kapitänen von Schiffen, insbesondere von solchen mit großem Tiefgang, wird empfohlen, mit zusätzlicher Vorsicht zu fahren und jederzeit innerhalb der Navigation zu bleiben.

Castle Museum jetty and navigation channel east of Castle Island.
Temporary Closure, 24 & 25 May 2023

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise Masters of Vessels and waterway users on the Erne System that the Castle Museum jetty and the navigation channel east of Castle Island will be closed to all vessels from 1200hrs on Wed 24th May to 1800hrs on Thursday 25th May 2023.
The designated area will be clearly marked by floating buoys. See map below.
A map of a river Description automatically generated with medium confidence Mariners should use the navigation channel to the west of Castle Island and proceed at slow speed and with minimum wash adhering to any instructions or displayed signage. Masters of Vessels should be aware of small non-motorised craft also operating in the navigation.

Steg des Castle Museum und Fahrrinne östlich von Castle Island, Vorübergehende Schließung, 24. und 25. Mai 2023
Waterways Ireland möchte die Kapitäne von Schiffen und die Nutzer der Wasserstraßen im Erne-System darauf hinweisen, dass der Castle Museum-Anleger und die Fahrrinne östlich von Castle Island von Mittwoch, den 24. Mai um 1200 Uhr bis Donnerstag, den 25. Mai 2023 um 1800 Uhr für alle Schiffe gesperrt werden.
Das ausgewiesene Gebiet wird durch schwimmende Bojen deutlich gekennzeichnet sein. Siehe Karte oben.

Seeleute sollten die Fahrrinne westlich von Castle Island benutzen und mit langsamer Geschwindigkeit und mit minimaler Aufspülung vorgehen, wobei sie sich an alle Anweisungen und angezeigten Schilder halten sollten. Schiffsführer sollten sich der kleinen nicht motorisierten Fahrzeuge bewusst sein, die ebenfalls in der Fahrrinne fahren.

Dragon Boat Regatta, 11 June 2023

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise Masters of vessels and users of the Barrow Navigation that the Barrow Dragon Boat Regatta will take place at Carlow on 11 June 2023 from 0800hrs to 1800hrs.
The event races will start approximately 250m upstream of Jimmy Murnane bridge and finish at theWaterways Ireland pontoons adjacent to Carlow Town Park. Safety boats will be present on the water for the duration of the event.
Masters of vessels are requested to proceed with additional caution in the area.

Barrow Navigation, Carlow, Drachenbootregatta, 11. Juni 2023
Waterways Ireland möchte die Schiffsführer, und Nutzer der Barrow Navigation darauf hinweisen, dass die Barrow Dragon Boat Regatta am 11. Juni 2023 von 08.00 bis 18.00 Uhr in Carlow stattfinden wird.
Die Regatta beginnt ca. 250 m flussaufwärts der Jimmy Murnane Brücke und endet an den Waterways Ireland Pontons neben dem Carlow Town Park.
Während der gesamten Dauer der Veranstaltung werden Sicherheitsboote auf dem Wasser anwesend sein.
Die Kapitäne der Schiffe werden gebeten, in diesem Gebiet mit besonderer Vorsicht vorzugehen.
Waterways Ireland dankt seinen Kunden für ihr Verständnis in dieser Angelegenheit.

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise Masters of vessels and users of the Barrow Navigation that the Adult Recreational Rowing Regatta will take place in Graiguenamanagh on Saturday 20th May 2023 from 1100hrs – 1800hrs.
Masters of vessels are requested to proceed with additional caution in the area.

Die Kapitäne der Schiffe werden gebeten, in diesem Gebiet mit besonderer Vorsicht vorzugehen.
