Tullamore
NAVIGATION RESTRICTION
Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all Masters and Users of the Grand Canal at Tullamore that the Canal water level between Lock 26 and Lock 27 will be lowered by circa 200mm from Wednesday 21st May to Friday 23rd May , And also lowered by circa 200mm from Monday 26th May to Wednesday 28th May to facilitate Canal Bank maintenance .

Hazard to Navigtion
Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that a vessel, “SURVIVOR”, is presently sunk on the Grand Canal at Lowtown on the North Bank East of the aqueduct.
A boom has been placed around the vessel and masters and owners are requested to pass the location with due care as the vessel may be obstructing the navigation channel.
Waterways Ireland thanks its customers for their cooperation in this matter.

Grand Canal
Ballycommon to Daingean section
Navigation Obstruction
Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners that an unidentified obstruction has been located in the canal channel bed to the east [ Daingean side ] of the Bord na Mona fixed rail bridge between Ballycommon and Daingean, adjacent to the overhead power lines.
The obstruction may be passed by reducing speed to a minimum and navigating with due caution. It is planned to remove the obstruction on Tuesday 6th May 2014.

MARINE NOTICE, No 31 of 2014
GRAND CANAL MAIN LINE
RESTRICTED NAVIGATION AT LOCK 6 BALLYFERMOT
Due to an obstruction in the Grand Canal at Lock 6 Ballyfermot, navigation is restricted and boat passage may not be possible. As per MN 23 of 2014 masters should contact the Eastern Regional Office to make arrangements for passage in or out of Dublin, but note that this is currently affected by the above restriction.
Waterways Ireland apologises for any inconvenience caused to its customers.
