Navigation Hazard: Low-Hanging Wires at Hartley Bridge
Attention Masters of Vessels and Waterway Users on the Shannon
Waterways Ireland advises that the hazardous obstruction at Hartley Bridge (midway between Carrick-on-Shannon and Leitrim) remains in place, as previously communicated in Marine Notice 20 (12 March 2025).

- Eircom wires continue to hang approximately 1.5 meters below the bridge on the southern side, posing a serious risk to high-profile vessels.
- Masters of high-profile vessels must proceed with extreme caution when navigating under Hartley Bridge.
- Dead slow ahead speed is recommended for high-profile vessels.
- If necessary, lowering masts and antenna arrays is strongly advised.

Gefahr für die Schifffahrt: Niedrig hängende Drähte an der Hartley-Brücke
Achtung: Kapitäne von Schiffen und Wasserstraßenbenutzer auf dem Shannon
Waterways Ireland weist darauf hin, dass das gefährliche Hindernis an der Hartley-Brücke (auf halber Strecke zwischen Carrick-on-Shannon und Leitrim) weiterhin besteht, wie bereits in der Marine Notice 20 (12. März 2025) mitgeteilt.

- Die Eircom-Drähte hängen weiterhin etwa 1,5 Meter unterhalb der Brücke auf der Südseite und stellen eine ernsthafte Gefahr für hochrangige Schiffe dar.
- Kapitäne von Hochseeschiffen müssen bei der Durchfahrt unter der Hartley-Brücke mit äußerster Vorsicht vorgehen.
- Für auffällige Schiffe wird eine langsame Fahrt voraus empfohlen.
- Falls erforderlich, wird dringend empfohlen, Masten und Antennenanlagen zu senken.
